HAMILTON, Mass. — Candidate for governor Mike Minogue today released a new statewide ad titled “Insiders,” highlighting what the campaign describes as a lack of transparency and accountability in Massachusetts government and calling for greater oversight of state government.
The ad opens by laying out a series of issues facing the Commonwealth, including Massachusetts being the least-transparent state, $120 billion and growing in debt, last in the nation in job growth, insider deals, and a lack of accountability.
“I’m Mike Minogue,” the ad states. “I believe the government has to answer to you, not the other way around.”
The ad then focuses on the voter-approved audit measure and the campaign’s argument that Massachusetts voters have demanded greater transparency from their government.

The ad goes on to criticize Governor Maura Healey and what it describes as “political insiders” for refusing to comply with the audit.
“Working families are falling behind while Maura Healey’s political establishment looks out for itself,” said Minogue. “When it comes to what matters to Massachusetts families – housing, health care, and utility bills – her failed record speaks for itself. Costs are too high, promises were broken, and hard-working families are paying the price. Maura Healey wants to divide us instead of fixing Massachusetts.”
The ad concludes with the line, “Funny thing about audits, the people who hate them the most are the ones who need it.”
