Minogue Backs Legal Action to Enforce Voter-Mandated State Audit

HAMILTON, Mass. — Following today’s announcement by Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio that her office is pursuing legal action to force compliance with the voter-mandated audit of the state government, Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Minogue released the following statement:

“Seventy-two percent of Massachusetts voters demanded an independent audit because they want transparency and accountability, and Beacon Hill has spent over a year trying to block it. The law is clear, the voters were clear, and the obstruction needs to end. I support Auditor DiZoglio’s effort to enforce the audit and will help ensure this lawsuit has the resources it needs to succeed. On my first day as governor, I will start the audit of the Legislature, the $63 billion state budget, and the Commonwealth’s $120 billion in debt, because this is taxpayer money, and Massachusetts deserves real answers.”
