Minogue Ad: Healey Cut Funding for Seniors and Cancer Research, Then Gave Her Cabinet Raises

Press Release

“Working for some, not for all”

HAMILTON, Mass. — Mike Minogue, candidate for Governor of Massachusetts, today released a new ad contrasting Governor Maura Healey’s 2024 cuts to critical services with the raises she approved for herself and her cabinet.

The ad says that in 2024 Healey cut hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for seniors, behavioral health support, homeless shelters, and cancer research. It says she blamed a budget shortfall, yet still gave herself and her cabinet significant raises.

“For the past four years, Maura Healey has promised to help the people of Massachusetts. But the only people she is helping are her close friends and political donors,” said Minogue. “While the rest of our Commonwealth is struggling, her donors and cabinet members are doing just fine. As governor, I will eliminate the waste, fraud, and abuse within our government. I will stop the pay-for-play and make Massachusetts the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

The ad closes with the message: “Maura Healey – working for some, not for all.”

Transcript of Ad:

In 2024, Maura Healey cut hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for seniors, behavioral health support, homeless shelters, and cancer research.

She blamed a budget shortfall, but that budget shortfall didn’t stop her from giving herself and her cabinet big fat raises.

After cutting critical support for those most vulnerable, Healey made sure she and her political friends were taken care of. That’s not leadership.

Maura Healey – working for some, not for all.
