AMESBURY, Mass. — Candidate for governor Mike Minogue today announced his Blueprint for a Better Future for Massachusetts, a vision for the Commonwealth built around four core priorities: Accountability, Affordability, Opportunity, and Keeping Communities Safe.
“Massachusetts is working for some, but not for all,” said Minogue. “Maura Healey is overspending, overtaxing, and overregulating. Massachusetts imposes eight taxes, taking more of its citizens’ money than 90% of America. Young people cannot afford to start their lives here, and seniors cannot afford to stay. Families, entrepreneurs, and businesses are leaving the Commonwealth because Massachusetts has the highest cost of living in the nation, driven by the soaring costs of energy, housing, health insurance, car insurance, and childcare. It’s time for a leader with integrity, common sense, and compassion to make Massachusetts the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Accountability
Minogue’s accountability blueprint will focus on stopping the overspending, exposing the corruption, and providing transparency and balance to the one-party system. The plan calls for not only completing the audit that 72% of Massachusetts voters demanded at the ballot box, but also bringing in an independent outside auditor to conduct a comprehensive audit of the entire state budget. The plan provides stronger oversight of state spending, greater transparency in healthcare spending, and utilizes innovative tools, allowing taxpayers to see how their money is being used.
Affordability
Minogue’s affordability blueprint is aimed at lowering the high cost of living facing Massachusetts families. The plan will focus on eliminating waste, fraud, and corruption, lowering energy and healthcare costs, expanding housing opportunities, and giving communities greater flexibility and funding to respond to their own needs.
The blueprint also calls for investments in safe, clean, and reliable energy with natural gas pipelines, expanded access to affordable, quality healthcare, housing, and transportation with the goal of making it easier for families to live, work, buy a home, and stay in Massachusetts.
Opportunity
Minogue said Massachusetts must become a place where people and businesses are able to thrive and build their futures.
His opportunity blueprint emphasizes growing private-sector jobs, retaining and recruiting entrepreneurs and businesses, strengthening manufacturing and emerging industries, expanding educational and vocational pathways, supporting veterans, and creating incentives for talented professionals to remain in the Commonwealth.
Keeping Communities Safe
Minogue said public safety and upholding the law are fundamental responsibilities of the governor.
His public safety blueprint will prioritize victims, families, law enforcement, individual rights, and safe communities while taking a balanced approach to immigration and criminal justice. The plan includes strengthening parole and bail policies, holding violent offenders accountable, protecting law enforcement, and safeguarding constitutional rights and individual privacy.
A Better Future for Massachusetts
Minogue said the AAOK blueprint represents a fundamental change in how state government should operate: more accountable to taxpayers, more focused on affordability, more supportive of opportunity, and committed to keeping communities safe.
“It’s time to take our state back. It’s time to build a Massachusetts that works for its people. I don’t believe Massachusetts is beyond repair. I still have hope. We all should,” said Minogue. “The problem is that our government is smothering the American Dream. Massachusetts is working for some, but not all. We’re going to change that. And we’re going to do it together.”
