HAMILTON, Mass. — Mike Minogue today announced that he received support from the Massachusetts Police Association (MPA) in his campaign for governor of Massachusetts.
The MPA Board of Directors voted to back Mike Minogue based on his record of service, experience as a combat veteran, commitment to public safety, and strong support for the men and women who serve as law enforcement officers and first responders throughout the Commonwealth.
“Mike Minogue understands what it means to serve,” said Michael McCarthy, President of the Massachusetts Police Association. “Mike’s military service, his commitment to veterans, and his support for those who protect our communities demonstrate that he understands the responsibilities that come with public service. We believe he will be a strong partner for law enforcement and first responders as governor. The Massachusetts Police Association proudly supports Mike Minogue and encourages our members, their families, and voters across Massachusetts to support him for governor.”
“As the grandson, nephew, and godson of police officers, I am honored to have the support of the Massachusetts Police Association, ” said Mike Minogue. “The fundamental role of the governor is to uphold the law, and as governor, I will not allow Massachusetts to be a sanctuary state. I will coordinate with local, state, and federal law enforcement for the safety of our citizens and law enforcement. We can balance common sense and compassion as we work together to keep communities safe.”
Minogue’s commitment to service began at the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduating, he served as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army and deployed to Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. He completed both Airborne and Army Ranger school and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service as the lead platoon leader for the 24th Infantry Division’s invasion into Iraq. Following active duty, Minogue continued his commitment to serving veterans and military families, including through MedTechVets, the organization he founded to help veterans pursue careers in the medical technology industry.
Mike Minogue has carried that commitment to service throughout his career and into his campaign for governor. His platform calls for state government to uphold the law and keep communities safe.
