HAMILTON, Mass. — On Election Day, candidate for governor Mike Minogue is calling on voters across Massachusetts to head to the polls today and to bring a friend, a neighbor, and a family member with them.
“I’m humbled by the support that’s come in from across the political divide,” said Minogue. “This is a tipping-point election. Massachusetts is working for some, but not all. In joining together, we can defeat the political establishment that’s been failing working families for far too long.”
Minogue says the race is bigger than any one candidate, and that today is the chance to prove it.
“We have tons of momentum, and we are going to win today,” said Minogue. “But we don’t want to just win. We want to send a signal that the people are standing up to the political establishment and joining the fight to make Massachusetts start working for everyone.”
Working for Some, Not All
Minogue says Massachusetts families are struggling with the rising cost of living while political insiders benefit.
“If you’re part of the political elite or part of the system, Massachusetts is working just fine,” said Minogue. “But if you’re a hard-working teacher, lobsterman, nurse, entrepreneur, or young person looking to start your life, Massachusetts is not working for you. Their friends are doing fine, but your electric bill goes up every month.”
He says his blueprint, AAOK (Accountability, Affordability, Opportunity, and Keeping Communities Safe), will put Massachusetts families first. It includes an audit of the Legislature and the entire state budget, lower energy costs, cuts to government red tape, and school choice for parents.
“For too long, the political establishment has looked out for itself while working families struggle to get ahead. People are fed up, and they have every right to be,” said Minogue. “The era of political insiders cutting sweetheart deals and putting themselves first is coming to an end. It’s time for a government that works for the people, not the insiders.”
“If you supported another candidate in the past, or you’re tired of the political elite working against you, or this is your first time ever getting involved: welcome to the movement,” Minogue added. “Anybody can dream big. It’s the execution, the work, the attention to detail. Don’t take anything for granted. It’s time for a new kind of governor.”
