Minogue Makes His Play: Bronze Star Veteran Debuts Primetime Ad in Patriots vs. Bills Game
HAMILTON, Mass. – Massachusetts politics is about to get some primetime grit. Candidate for governor, Mike Minogue, is tackling his campaign launch the same way he’s approached every mission in his life — head-on, under the brightest lights, and tackling problems.
This Sunday, Minogue’s first campaign commercial will air during Sunday Night Football in the Boston media market, putting his story of service and leadership in front of fans watching the Patriots take on the Bills. The Washington Examiner broke the news exclusively this morning.
The 60-second ad introduces voters to Minogue’s extraordinary path — from West Point to the battlefield, from Bronze Star Army Ranger to the CEO of Abiomed, a Massachusetts-based medical device company that saved lives and created jobs.
“From soldier to CEO, I’m running to be a new kind of governor — one with the faith, heart, and the grit to serve Massachusetts,” Minogue says in the ad.
Minogue isn’t just testing the waters, he’s the man in the arena now running for governor. The ad buy, a six-figure investment, represents one of the earliest major media plays of the 2026 cycle and signals that Minogue’s campaign intends to compete hard from kickoff to the final whistle.
A West Point graduate, Minogue served as an Army Airborne Ranger and infantry officer during Operation Desert Storm, where he was awarded a Bronze Star for his leadership in combat. After serving in the military, he returned home and built a career in business, ultimately serving 19 years as CEO of Abiomed. Under his leadership, the Massachusetts company grew into an industry leader, developed cutting-edge heart pump technology, that saved hundreds of thousands of lives, and created thousands of jobs.
Minogue and his wife Renee raised their five children in Massachusetts, where they’ve been active in their church, veterans’ causes, and education initiatives. His campaign for governor is grounded in his belief that families across the Commonwealth deserve affordability, accountability, and opportunity.
